"It is through Education
that we decide if we love our children enough...
preparing them to the task of renewing our world."
Hannah Arendt

Dear Friends,

Yes, our future is linked to what we will have done of our children. As adults, we are in charge of fighting the devastating effects of ignorance, where the weak are the preys of violence, injustice and neglected by our decision-makers. It is nonetheless, to todays victims that we will entrust our planet tomorrow...

For Mission Enfance, the educational humanitarian action is reflecting not only on our 700 million illiterate people but also on our so-called civilized society. At our headoffice, as on the field, we consecrate all our energy to this quest. For instance, building, a new school in Afghanistan thereby giving 400 young girls access to education each year, is building a more human world.

450.000 children having received assistance from Mission Enfance in eighteen years can vouch for this engaged solidarity that we share with you to "renew our world". Sparks of hope, dispatched throughout hostile lands, these young people, once adults, can at last accomplish what they have been trained for : respect life and their community, with the will and the capacity to undertake. Marousya, in Armenia, has not blocked out her childhood spent in an icy container of her town, razed out to the ground by an earthquake. But she doesn't either forget that with your help, dear donators, she has become an interpreter in Yerevan, the capital.

Each one of the children that you will discover in our document has a story in our humanitarian organization. A story that passed through a school or a professional training centre, but also through an emergency aid. A story of a future...

And this story can only be written with your generosity ! This is why today, I ask you not to forget about those without copybooks or pens, without schools, in order to just imagine that their lives may become, during a school year... a Christmas tale !

I know that I can count on you. In advance, I am sincerely thankful and address you my best wishes.
