Assessment of humanitarian actions carried out
by Mission Enfance since its creation in 1991

 

210 schools built, rehabilitated or supported in Vietnam, Armenia, Lebanon, Sudan, Iraqi Kurdistan (among which an international High School for 500 students), in Ethiopia, Cambodia, Burkina-Faso, Laos and Honduras. 9 schools equiped in school material and furniture in Armenia, Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Vietnam and Laos.

 

50 school support centres, preschools or game libraries for street children, contructed, rehabilitated or supported in Thaïland, Colombia, Vietnam, Burkina-Faso, Armenia, Lebanon, Iraqi Kurdistan, Egypt. Equipment of 2 boarding schools in the Republic of Djibouti and in Ethiopia. Construction of 1 boarding school and of 2 Professional Training Centres in Iraqi Kurdistan and Vietnam. 1 child psychomotricity and language centre constructed and equiped in Lebanon.

  507 houses built in Iraqi Kurdistan.
  20 wells constructed on the High Plateaux of Vietnam and in Burkina Faso.
  6 free community clinics built and supported in Vietnam, Lebanon, Iraqi Kurdistan and Madagascar (45.000 children and adults cared for).
  10 orphanages rehabilitated and supported in Vietnam, in Armenia, in Lebanon and in Iraqi Kurdistan.
  1 experimental farm created in Burkina Faso, as well as 2 agricultural perimeters to help the food autosufficiency of about 200 families.
  5.000 pupils receive every year school kits in the schools of Armenia, Vietnam, Lebanon, Burkina Faso, Laos, Ethiopia and in Afghanistan.
  Hygiene training programs are carried out regularly in Vietnam, with the distribution of hygiene kits and citronella impregnated mosquito nets to fight malaria of which suffer the children of the High-Plateaux of Vietnam. In Iraq, each water projects in the villages is ended with a hygiene training session for the population.
  Over 300 teachers, 300 pupils and 9 game librarians were trained in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Vietnam and Colombia, teaching support for sponsored children in Burkina Faso.
  41 projects of drinking water conveyance carried out in villages of Iraq, with the partnership of UNICEF. 41 km (25, 5 miles) of tracks were completed to make access possible to villages rehabilitated.
  737 children are sponsored in the 17 centres Mission Enfance supports, in Armenia, Vietnam, Lebanon, Burkina Faso and Ethiopia. 40 of them are attending university to this day.
  25 expatriates have worked on our different intervention sites and 180 voluntary workers went on mission during emergency operations. More than 10,000 local employees have worked on our building sites, especially in the North of Iraq, were only in the year 2003, 800 workmen have worked on the construction of our international high school.
    Creation of agricultural perimeters in Burkina Faso
  Support in kind and financial donation regularly made to Abi 06 association located in Nice France, striving for the social rehabilitation of the unemployed. But also financial support to external associations on punctual projects (emergency help in Somalia, in Rwanda). Support to the construction of a centre for the children of Safi, in Marocco. Support to training of psychologists in Romania.
  20 tons of aid, approximately are sorted and inventoried every year in our warehouses by our 25 volunteers. It is send by containers to our centres (Burkina Faso, Columbia, Lebanon), on emergency fields (ex: War in Georgia, earthquake in Algeria in 2003 and in Morocco in 2004) or on punctual projects (Day-nursery for the little ones in Senegal). Mission Enfance has conveyed and handed out 1.400 tons of aid (food, school equipment, baby hygiene, house equipment…) for the victims of wars of Ex-Yugoslavia and Kosovo, between 1991 and 1999, throughout 41 emergency convoys.

The actions of Mission Enfance concern close to 30.000 children every year throughout its different humanitarian programs. Since its creation, in 1991, 25 countries will have benefited from its help.
